first_imgThe League of Women Voters of Greater Tuscaloosa held an event that let members of the community come out and speak with their legislators.The organization hosted a public event from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Bryant Conference Center. Kim Bailey, the voter services chair for the League of Women Voters, said events like this are a good way to directly communicate with legislators.“Well, it’s important to let them know what you as a constituent find to be a priority so they know how to vote,” Bailey said. “So they know what your concerns are so they can take those forward and represent you.”Lawmakers talked about what’s going to be on the upcoming legislative agenda, as well as the new gas tax and possible sales tax in Tuscaloosa.last_img
